The Threedot team (Eric Léopold, Oana Savu Novacescu, and Shivangi Chaturvedi) attended APEX FTE Dublin 2025 in Dublin and welcomed delegates at our first-ever Threedot booth. It was a great opportunity to meet airline and airport leaders, technology companies, and both existing and future clients from around the world.

If you couldn’t join us, here are a few highlights.

1) Modern retailing and 10 years of NDC lessons

Eric Léopold moderated a session featuring Lufthansa Group and Air France-KLM focused on modern airline retailing and offer and order management. In addition, he led a workshop on lessons learned from 10 years of NDC implementation. As a result, the discussion surfaced common myths and mistakes, and it also clarified what airlines should expect next as retailing execution accelerates.

2) How AI is shaping airline retailing

Oana moderated a panel on how AI is shaping the future of airline retailing. The conversation explored how airlines and airports apply AI to offers, disruption management, and customer experience. Importantly, one message came through clearly: AI only works well when data exchange is strong and consistent.

3) Ryanair’s value-driven retailing and in-house execution

We also attended a panel focused on Ryanair’s value-driven approach. John Hurley, Ryanair’s CTO, shared how building software in-house helps them move faster and tailor systems to their needs. However, not every airline can fund or scale that approach, so execution paths will differ by carrier.

What stood out overall

Every year at FTE, change feels faster. Therefore, the winners will likely be the teams that combine customer insight, strategy, technology choices, and speed of execution.
